Satta Matka Glossary

Every term you'll meet on a matka result board or chart, explained in plain words with an example. Tap a term in the list to jump to it.

Results

Open: The first result a market declares each day – a three-digit panna and the single ank it produces. Kalyan's open comes at 4:35 PM.
Close: The second declaration of the day, a few hours after the open. With it, the day's jodi is complete.
Result format (e.g. 147-22-679): A full result is written open panna – jodi – close panna. In 147-22-679, 147 is the open panna, 22 the jodi and 679 the close panna.
Half result (e.g. 147-2): What you see between the open and the close: the open panna and its ank only. The second digit of the jodi is still to come.
Session / result date: The date a market's open is declared. Markets that close after midnight, such as Main Bazar, still count the close as part of the previous date's result.

Ank (single): One digit from 0 to 9: the last digit of a panna's digit sum. Panna 380 → 3 + 8 + 0 = 11 → ank 1.
Jodi (pair): The open ank and the close ank side by side, from 00 to 99. Open panna 147 (ank 2) and close panna 679 (ank 2) make jodi 22.
Panna / Patti / Panel: The three-digit number declared at open or close. Its digits always run in ascending order with 0 counted as 10, so 1, 4 and 0 give 140, never 014. Only 220 pannas are possible – see the 220 patti chart.
SP, DP, TP: Single patti (three different digits, e.g. 128) – 120 of them. Double patti (one digit repeated, e.g. 550) – 90. Triple patti (e.g. 777) – 10.
Cycle patti: The last two digits of a panna – "47" in 147.
Sangam: A combination of numbers from both halves of a result: a half sangam pairs a panna with an ank, a full sangam pairs the open panna with the close panna.
Cut: A digit's partner five places away: 0↔5, 1↔6, 2↔7, 3↔8, 4↔9.
Red jodi: A jodi printed in red on charts because its digits are equal (00, 11 … 99) or cut (05, 16, 27, 38, 49 and their reverses). There are 20 of them; the colour is only a convention.
Farak: The difference between the open ank and the close ank. Jodi 72 has a farak of 5.
Berij: The last digit of a jodi's digit sum. Jodi 76 → 7 + 6 = 13 → berij 3.

Jodi chart: A market's record with one row per week and one jodi per day – quick to scan across years. Example: the Kalyan jodi chart.
Panel chart (penal chart, patti chart): The full record: open panna, jodi and close panna for every day. The pannas are printed top to bottom, so 1 / 4 / 7 reads 147. Example: the Kalyan panel chart.
** and ***: No result that day, usually a market holiday.
Weekly chart: One week's jodis or panels for several markets side by side – like the "This week's jodi" table on our home page.

Market (bazar): An operator that declares an open and a close at fixed times, such as Kalyan, Main Bazar or Milan Day. Each market has its own results; see the timetable for all of them.
Day, Night and Morning markets: Many names come in several versions – Milan Day and Milan Night, Kalyan Morning and Kalyan Night. They are separate markets with separate results, not two halves of one.
Kalyan: The best-known market, named after Kalyanji Bhagat, who started the Worli matka in 1962. Kalyan result today.
Main Bazar: The late-night market (open 10 PM, close after midnight). The name goes back to Ratan Khatri's "Main Bazaar" matka. Main Bazar result today.
Worli matka: The original 1960s matka run from Worli, Bombay, from which the modern markets descend. See the real Matka King story.
Starline: A different format that declares a single panna and ank every hour instead of an open and close.
Satta King (Gali, Desawar, Faridabad, Ghaziabad): A separate game popular in north India: one two-digit number a day, with no pannas. It is not matka.
Khaiwal / bookie: The person who takes bets. Betting with a khaiwal is illegal in most of India – see what the law says.

Final ank, golden ank, lucky number: Predictions posted by tip sites. They are guesses, not results, and are no more likely to come than any other number.
Guessing forum: A page where users post predictions. Charts cannot predict the next result, because every draw is independent.
Fix game, leak number, "100% jodi": Paid "guaranteed" numbers sold over WhatsApp, Telegram or websites. Always a scam – here's how it works.
Loss recovery: A follow-up scam aimed at people who have already lost money: a bigger fee for a "sure" number. Report it on the cyber-crime helpline 1930.
